The short version: if mopping is the main event, the eufy Omni S1 Pro has a roller mop that is constantly rinsed with clean water while it cleans. The eufy Omni E25 brings a similar roller-mop idea and a full-service station for less. Want the self-washing station on a tighter budget? The eufy Omni C28. Happy to rinse a mop pad yourself? The Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 self-empties and has no dust bags to buy.

The picks in detail

Best for mopping

eufy Omni S1 Pro

Most robot mops drag a damp pad around and spread the dirt a bit. The S1 Pro uses a 290mm roller mop that spins at 170 RPM with 1kg of downward pressure. While it cleans, the mop is constantly rinsed with a mix of clean water and detergent from a dual-tank system. Eufy calls it the "Always Clean Mop". The idea is that you're never mopping with dirty water.

The station does almost everything else. Eufy lists ten jobs: auto-emptying, mop washing, refilling, heated-air drying, ozonated water from tap water, waste water collection, detergent dispensing, an LCD touch panel, a dust bag and faster charging. The square-fronted robot is designed for edges and corners, and it lifts the mop 12mm when it detects carpet.

  • 8,000 Pa claimed suction; detangling brush
  • 290mm roller mop at 170 RPM with 1kg of downward pressure; continuously rinsed while cleaning
  • 10-in-1 UniClean station including heated-air drying and detergent dispensing
  • Eco-Clean Ozone: ozonated water made from tap water (eufy quotes 99.99% of E. coli removed in lab tests)
  • dToF LiDAR mapping and 3D MatrixEye obstacle avoidance (infrared plus RGB camera); 12mm mop lift on carpet

Why it's lazy-approved

  • The most automated mopping here
  • Square design gets closer to corners and skirting
  • Doses its own detergent

Worth knowing

  • Lower claimed suction than newer models: it's a mopping specialist
  • A premium price, and a big station to find room for

Best all-rounder

eufy Omni E25

The E25 balances vacuuming and mopping. Its HydroJet roller mop is rinsed 360 times a minute and presses down with 1.5kg of pressure to shift stains. It lifts automatically on carpet, and eufy claims 20,000 Pa of suction for rugs and carpets. DuoSpiral brushes are designed to stop hair wrapping, and a CornerRover arm reaches out for edges and corners.

Back at the station, the mop is washed with clean water and dried with 35 to 50°C air to keep smells at bay. The bin empties into a 3L dust bag that eufy says only needs changing every 75 days. The 2.5L clean water tank holds enough for eufy's example 180 sq m home four times over.

  • 20,000 Pa claimed suction; DuoSpiral anti-tangle brushes
  • HydroJet roller mop: self-rinsing, 1.5kg of downward pressure; lifts on carpet
  • CornerRover arm for edges (eufy claims 20% more coverage)
  • Station: mop washing, 35 to 50°C hot-air drying, 3L dust bag (about 75 days, per eufy), 2.5L clean water tank
  • Stain detection mode for spills like coffee

Why it's lazy-approved

  • Long gaps between bag changes
  • Strong all-round cleaner, not just a mop
  • Edge arm means fewer missed corners

Worth knowing

  • The dirty water tank and roller still need an occasional clean
  • eufy suggests no-go zones for carpets with pile over 26mm

Best value full station

eufy Omni C28

The C28 brings the self-washing roller mop to a lower price. It has a HydroJet roller mop that cleans itself in real time with 1kg of downward pressure, plus a 5-in-1 station that takes care of dust emptying, mop washing, water refilling, hot-air drying and waste water.

Eufy claims 15,000 Pa of suction, which is plenty for everyday crumbs, dust and pet hair. The DuoSpiral detangling brushes are designed to stop hair clogging the robot. Its iPath 2.0 navigation is built to steer round obstacles even in low light and under furniture.

  • 15,000 Pa claimed suction; DuoSpiral detangling brushes
  • Self-cleaning HydroJet roller mop with 1kg of downward pressure; auto-lifting mop
  • 5-in-1 station: empties, washes the mop, refills, hot-air dries and collects dirty water
  • iPath 2.0 navigation and obstacle avoidance
  • Eufy advertises up to 75 days of maintenance-free use

Why it's lazy-approved

  • Full-service station for less money
  • Roller mop rinses itself as it goes

Worth knowing

  • Lower claimed suction than the E25
  • Fewer extras (no detergent dosing or edge arm)

Best no-bags option

Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Self-Empty Robot Vacuum & Mop (RV2620WAUKWH)

Shark's Matrix Plus is the simpler option. It vacuums and mops in one run, then empties its bin into a bagless base that Shark says holds up to 60 days of dirt. No dust bags means no ongoing bag costs. It cleans in what Shark calls a "matrix grid" pattern for better coverage, and uses blasts of air to push debris out of edges and corners.

Mopping is done with a reusable microfibre pad that Shark says scrubs hard floors 100 times a minute. The trade-off is that the base doesn't wash or dry the pad, so you take it off and rinse it yourself. That's fine for light daily mopping, less so for muddy kitchens.

  • Bagless self-empty base holds up to 60 days of debris (Shark's figure)
  • Sonic mopping scrubs 100 times a minute; 2 washable microfibre pads included
  • Precision "matrix grid" cleaning pattern; edge-cleaning air blasts
  • Dock: 33.2 × 22.7 × 30cm (W × D × H)
  • 2-year guarantee on registration

Why it's lazy-approved

  • No bags to buy or change
  • Compact base compared with full mop-washing stations

Worth knowing

  • You rinse the mop pad yourself
  • Shark doesn't publish a suction figure

How to choose a robot vacuum and mop

1. Roller mop or pads?

Roller mops (like eufy's HydroJet and Always Clean designs) are rinsed while they work, so they shouldn't push dirty water around. Spinning or vibrating pads are simpler and cheaper, but a pad that isn't washed by the station means a job for you.

2. How much should the station do?

The more a station does (emptying, washing, drying, refilling), the less you do, but the bigger it gets. A basic self-empty base is small. A full "omni" station is closer to a small bin in size. Measure your space.

3. Carpets and rugs

If you have rugs, check that the mop lifts or detaches on carpet. All three eufys here lift their mops automatically. For deep-pile rugs, set no-go zones in the app.

4. Running costs

Dust bags, detergent and replacement rollers or pads all add up over time. Bagless bases like the Shark's avoid one of those costs.

5. Pets

Got a shedding dog or cat? See our pet hair guide for robots and tools picked with fur in mind.

FAQ

Do robot mops actually clean floors properly?

For regular maintenance, they do a good job of keeping hard floors fresh. Heavy, dried-on stains may still need a manual scrub now and then. Models with downward pressure and self-rinsing rollers, like the eufys here, are designed to handle more than a light wipe.

Will a robot mop wet my rugs?

Not if it lifts or detaches its mop. All three eufy models here lift the mop automatically when they detect carpet (the S1 Pro by 12mm). You can also set no-go zones in the app.

What does a self-washing station do?

It cleans the mop after (or during) each run, and the best ones also dry it with warm air to stop smells. Many also empty the robot's bin and refill its water tank.

Can I use floor cleaner in a robot mop?

Only the solution the manufacturer approves. The S1 Pro has a detergent dispenser, and eufy sells its own floor cleaning solution. Check the manual before adding anything to the tanks.

Is a robot mop worth it if I have carpets?

If your home is mostly carpet, a vacuum-first robot is a better buy. See our robot vacuum guide.
